## Questions about this calculator

### Why does the number look so much bigger than I expected?

Because we price the goal in future rupees. A ₹25 lakh degree at 6% education inflation costs over ₹50 lakh in twelve years. Planning against today's price quietly leaves you half short.

### What inflation rate should I use?

6% is a reasonable general default. Education and healthcare have historically run higher, closer to 8-10%.

### What if I cannot afford the required amount?

Start with what you can and step it up as your income grows — the Step-Up SIP calculator shows how much that closes the gap.
